Audition dates for the Advanced Musical, Bye Bye Birdie are March 13 & 14 l  Advanced Dramatic Theater Puffs and the Spring Production Annie Jr are March 26th and 28th.

Beginner Thespians (K-4th grades) DO NOT audition. Casting determined in a non-competitive way and parts handed out after the first class together.

MONDAYS:

Fairy Tale Theatre Presents: Little Orphan Annie  ~ March 25 – May 6.  Performance Saturday, May 11 at the Academy

Join us for our Fairytale Theater acting group. Each season we will perform a 30 minute production of a beloved fairytale with just our littlest thespians to be performed. Students will all receive a speaking role they can be successful with based on our initial first class and perform in select songs from the beloved story of Little Orphan Annie. No auditions for this program. Guaranteed to bring a smile to any young performers face. Students will also be subject to a nominal costume fee and supplying own undergarments TBD during rehearsals.

Advanced Dramatic Theater (Grades 8 & up)

Puffs the Play — Broadway Crew

Each season, a group of performers serious about honing their acting skills may participate in a dramatic play.  Play is determined seasonally, and may include thought-provoking discussion and analysis of the material, era, and socially conscious debate.

The spring play is Puffs. Pre-screening/audition required.  Parental discretion advised prior to registration as mature content may be performed.  Please email shorelinetheateracademy@gmail.com for an audition/interview.

MUSICAL AUDITIONS GRADES 4 AND UP ONLY

Tuesday Group – Annie Kids Cast A: Saturday, June 8 at 1pm;

Thursday Group – Annie Kids Cast B: Sunday, June 9 at 1pm

There are no auditions for K thru 4th grades. Roles for that age range are given out to students after the first rehearsal to get to know each child and encourage cooperative team building with a non-competitive approach to enjoying the arts.

ANNIE Kids (grades K-4) (Tuesday or Thursday)

This once-a-week program gives young actors who may be new to the stage an opportunity to perform in their own 40 minute Musical Production, Annie Kids, in a more intimate setting casting only students grades K thru 4. No audition necessary for this group.

ANNIE Jr (grades 4+) (Tuesday or Thursday)

WEDNESDAYS:

In this 6 week class, taught by our newest instructor, Keturah Murnane, students grades 4 and up will explore 3 different styles of dance including Hip Hop, Ballet/Lyrical, Tap and Musical Theatre Jazz to help become more expressive on the stage and gain confidence dancing in any musical we may wish to audition for.Grades: 4 and Up | Tuition : $154.00 | Class Time: Wednesdays 4:45 – 5:30pm | Location: 61 E. Tap/Jazz Combo for the Tween & Teen Beginner

A traditional 6-week class for students looking to improve their dance skills. Many young people discover theater over time and once bit by the bug realize they are missing essential dance skills to get top roles in high school theater or professionally.  This class is designed to teach the older actor the critical basics to tap dancing in an age-friendly environment.  This high energy, full of fun moves class will have you tapping with confidence at auditions in no time!

Ballet Contemporary Fusion Intensive 

This Ballet focused class will explore ballet technique and form while  diving into different ways of combining modern, contemporary and ballet vocabularies into a challenging but fun combination. It shows each dancer how to keep the integrity of their technique while utilizing it in the most effective way possible. The class also explores ways to increase one’s artistic capacity through inspiration by movement, music, and philosophy.

The class is recommended for any beginning/intermediate or advanced dancer

Advanced Tap (Pre-Screening Required)

All students who wish to participate in this class must be evaluated by our head dance teacher/choreographer, Maria Teresa Lonetti. This class is for advanced level performers who have prior experience with dance and/or theater.

Little Play Makers

A fun drama class designed specifically for children who are in grades K-3 to learn to create their own stories through fun improvisation games and activities. Children learn to use their imaginations in a fun and cooperative environment to encourage kindness and positive social skills while discovering a love for the performing arts.

Junior Madcappers

This once-a-week drama class helps students write their own comic material, create stories for performance and incorporates improvisation games and drama activities into a fun and cooperative experience. A perfect class for any child interested in exploring the performing arts in a free, imaginative setting.

Comedy Center

A traditional improvisation and comic theater 8-week class for older students looking for a class to explore comedy and improvisation. Students work separately (grades 6 – 8 & grades 9 – 12) and together to develop comic skits and routines appropriate for each age level.

LATE SPRING ADVANCED MUSICAL AUDITIONS ARE MARCH 14 & 15

The Spring Advanced Musical is Bye Bye Birdie!

Rehearsals: Saturdays, 10:00-2:30 l Mandatory Tech: TBD l Show Dates: TBDGrades: 10th* grade though Adult | Tuition: $325.00 10th grade-Age 20 I

*7th  and 8th graders must be currently enrolled students, and also be signed up for one of the Main stage running congruent to the advanced musical they are wanting to participate in

**9th graders must be signed up for either the Winter mainstage program, the spring advanced play, Spring Jr. Show or two spring classes running at the Academy

***Actors are only permitted to miss 3 rehearsals, must be available for all of tech week and all performances. Any breach of this will mean immediate dismissal from the show with out refund. No exceptions will be made.

****Special accommodations may be possible for graduating seniors and events that coincide with their own high school senior mandatory event schedule.

The Advanced Musical Theater program is a program designed for our most senior performers. These performers are considered our most advanced actors due to their years of theater experience and training. These requirements have been put in place to insure that our younger performers gain the experience needed to be considered one of our advanced performers. A volunteer option is available for those for performers that unable to complete the list requirements. Students will also need to give a detailed explanation  to the best of their ability why they are unable to meet the performance/class requirement.
