For the Little Entertainer

Ages: 3-5 years old (Pre-School)

Tuition: $169.00

Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT

Description: Come and enter into the world of dance and movement in a fun and happy environment. In this 45 minute long class Ms. Maria will teach the basics of tap and ballet while using different exercises and games which will have your preschooler begging for more. We, here at Kidz Konnection, want to nurture your child’s sense of self expression and what better way to do it than through dance.

Description: Do have a child that wont stop climbing and flipping on the furniture? Does your preschooler love to dance around the house and even in the car? Do they also have a show to perform for you? Well then, do we have a class for you! In this 45 minute long class Ms.Maria will teach your preschooler basic dance and acro skills while having the time of their lives doing it. They will be begging to come back each week.

Friday Night Live Kidz

Fall 2018 Friday Night Live Kidz

Ages: Grades K-3 (5-9 years old)

Tuition: $169.00

Class Date/ Time: Fridays, 4:30pm – 5:15pm 9/21-11/9

Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT

Description: This once-a-week improvisation class is perfect for the ham of your house who loves to create original material and imagine freely. In this 8 week class, kids play plenty of fun drama games and activities to explore creativity while developing an original skit to perform for family and friends.

Tiny Thespians

Ages: Grades K-4 (5-10 years old)

Tuition: $99.00/ month

Class Date/ Time: Thursdays 4:00-4:45pm

Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT

Description: This once-a-week class gives young actors who may be new to the stage an opportunity to perform in our Fall Mainstage Production in a more intimate setting. Students will be given two full scenes within the show that they work on during class time. They perform their scenes during the performance of the Fall Show and participate in all full cast activities including tech week.

Junior Thespians

Junior Thespians (Grades 2-4)

Ages: Grades 2-3 (7-9 years old)

Tuition: $114.00/ month

Class Date/ Time: Tuesdays or Thursdays 4:45-6:00pm

Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT

Description: This is for children in 2nd and 3rd grade looking to participate in the Fall Main Stage Production. One step up from Tiny Thespians, it allows children to be in the general cast of the Main Stage Production. This option is for students who are ready to commit to the full responsibilities and schedule of a Main Stage Production. Children must audition for the production. This age group will not be considered for principle roles, are not guaranteed speaking roles, and will primarily be a part of the general ensemble of the show. For the Motivated Actor

Motivated Actor Pics

Fight Choreo (Grades 4+)

A fun and energetic class for students looking to learn or improve their ability to perform choreographed fights on stage. In this class, students will learn the basics of physical stage-fighting using fake weapons and their bodies. Students will explore everything from slap-stick humor to fully choreographed sword-fights. This class starts Wednesday, September 19 from 7 – 8pm running until November 7. It will resume January 3 for the winter session.

Wednesdays 7:15-8:15 pm. Tuition: $169.00

Musical Theater, Dance & Acro (Grades 3-6)

Musicals have evolved through the years from just Waltz to a fast paced, modern dance and stunting world. In this class Ms. Maria will teach dance combos inspired by some our more modern musicals and incorporate basic acro tumbling skills that will the students will build on. Ms. Maria is a USA Gymnastics certified gymnastics coach, who has is very experienced in coaching tumbling. Classes will begin with a warm up, new skill(s) of the week and end with a dance combo. The performers that see you in musicals like Bring it On, Lion King, and Billy Elliot had to start somewhere. Why don’t you start with us?

Friday Night Live Tweens Edition (Grades 4-5) 

This Saturday Night Live-esque class is perfect for every class clown or budding actor looking to gain more confidence. Students work separately and together to develop comic skits and routines appropriate for each age level. Great for any performer interested in stand-up comedy or improvisational acting.

Fridays 5:15 – 6:15pm. Tuition: $169.00

2018 Fall Homeschool Play/ Faith-Based Drama: Flora and Ulysses

Ages: 4th Grade and Up (10+)

Auditions: There are no auditions for this program. Students will arrive on the first day and be placed in a role based on their age, skill level, experience, group dynamics, and preferences.

**NOTE: ALL students are GUARANTEED a role in this production**

Tuition (for Theater Class ONLY): $169.00 (for six 90-minute sessions)

Tuition (for Theater Class AND Art Class): $140.00 (for six 3-hour sessions) *See details for art class below*

Description: Come perform with us in the play Flora and Ulysses by Kate DeCamillo. Play by John Glore.  Winner of the National Ambassador’s for Young People’s Literature Award.
Join Flora, a cynical young girl as she goes on a journey with a squirrel who was tragically injured in a vacuum accident but emerges with super powers.  During the course of their adventures together, she learns that she is capable of more compassion than she might admit and would go to great lengths for her strange companions.  A perfect companion performance to any faith based curriculum that centers on love, compassion and the importance of lifting each other up.
**Bring a bag lunch if staying through. Lunch from 11:30am – 12:00pm.

Tickets: This event is free to the public.

Description: Let’s have fun with the Elements and Principles of Art!!  Melissa Imossi, a classically trained artist, will guide our students through engaging projects that are beautiful as well as educational.   Students will create their own masterpieces inspired by well-known artists, art history and the world around them. Towards the end of the program, students will be able to apply what they learn in class by painting sets that will be used in the play Flora and Ulysses!  Different mediums will be used, such as drawing, painting, printing, sculpture and collage.
**Bring a bag lunch if staying through. Lunch from 11:30am – 12:00pm.

Creative Writing (Young Adult to Adult)

Students will learn how to craft stories by understanding dynamic character development, plot structure and formation, setting and descriptive language, and dialogue creation. Students will work collaboratively in small groups or as a class to write a skit.

Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:00pm.   Tuition: $169.00

Tap/Jazz Combo for the Teen Beginner (Grades 5+)

A traditional 8-week class for students looking to improve their dance skills. Many young people discover theater over time and once bit by the bug realize they are missing essential dance skills to get top roles in high school theater or professionally.  This class is designed to teach the older actor the critical basics to tap dancing in an age-friendly environment.  This high energy, full of fun moves class will have you tapping with confidence at auditions in no time!

Tuesdays 7:15 – 8:00pm.  Tuition: $169.00

Advanced Acting Trio Class Series – SPECIAL DEAL!

The following three classes work well when taken at the Take ALL 3 of the following Advanced Acting classes and receive 25% off the entire bundle! Advanced Acting Techniques (Grades 6+) 

A traditional 8-week class for students hoping to gain skills in more serious acting techniques. The perfect class for the young performer looking for a deeper experience. Exposure to the most commonly-taught acting techniques helps develop more believable characters. This class is highly recommended for students hoping to go into theater professionally someday. This is also a friendly environment to prepare for auditions. This class is a part of the Advanced Acting Trio Class Series.

Fridays 3:30 – 4:30pm. Tuition: $169.00

Character Development (Grades 6+)

A traditional 8-week class for any student hoping to gain larger roles in their community or school theater. A perfect compliment to the Advanced Acting Techniques class! This class allows students to dive deeper into the world of character development and explore various types of characters throughout all of theater’s history. Students will explore monologues and scenes to work on embodying characters from a range of plays including classic works, historical literature, and even including more contemporary playwrights. This class is a part of the Advanced Acting Trio Class Series.

Fridays 4:45-5:30pm. Tuition: $169.00

Friday Night Live Teens (Grades 6+)

A traditional 8-week class for older students looking for an opportunity to study more serious improvisational techniques without sacrificing the more fun and creative aspects of improv and comedy. This Saturday Night Live-esque class is perfect for every class clown or budding actor looking to gain more confidence. Students work separately and together to develop comic skits and routines appropriate for each age level. Great for any performer interested in stand-up comedy or improvisational acting. This class is a part of the Advanced Acting Trio Class Series.

Fridays 5:30 – 6:30pm. Tuition: $169.00  

Dance/Cardio Workout (Young Adult to Adult)

A fun workout for young adults to parents who loves dancing and looking for a great way to work out. Perfect for the parent waiting for their child in Friday Night Live Improv Classes.  Get in the groove and in shape all in one great class. All skill levels welcome!

Once on This Island

2018 Fall Advanced Musical Theater Production: Once on This Island

Ages: You must be at least 13 years of age or older to participate in this program

Auditions: Tuesday, September 11th & Thursday, September 13th 2018

Audition Location: 61 East Main St., Clinton, CT in our Academy Building

Rehearsals: Every Saturday from 2:30 – 5:00pm (additional rehearsals as needed at the discretion of the director)

Tuition: $99.00/ month for 3 months

Performance Date: December 7 – 9, 2018

Performance Location: Intimate theater experience at the Academy building

Tickets: Tickets are not yet on sale for this production

**Note: This is an advanced level production class. You MUST commit at the time of the audition regardless of the role received.  A $99.00 non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of the audition to secure your spot in this highly intensive, extremely popular program.  Limited Cast size.  Cuts may be made.

2017 Annual Graveyard Walk (Grades 6+)

Every year, the professional actors in our Shoreline Actors Collective branch of Kidz Konnection perform a number of eerie historical scenes at the Clinton Graveyard. This is a free program for the interested performer.  Please contact us to be involved in this program.
