Fall Programs/Productions 2024
Classes run in 6 week sessions from 9/9 until 10/18. (*Classes are subject to rescheduling in the event conflicts are unavoidable) All production rehearsals begin the week of 9/16 and run through the show dates of the specific show. Tech week rehearsals generally occur daily and are the final week of each production scheduled. Tech week rehearsals scheduled are mandatory. You are urged to check and clear any potential personal conflicts NOW for any of the shows you are interested in participating. No Rehearsal October 14 or 31.

Full payment is due the day of the audition. There are no refunds after a cast list for any show is posted or after Friday, September 13, 2024.

Frozen Fairytale Theater: Grades K – 3

CLUE
This hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery, based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie and inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, is the perfect show for every intermediate to advanced level actor to hone their character acting technique and comic time. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth–the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

Great for young emerging performers. Students will receive ensemble roles in the larger cast, learning at least 2 dance numbers and working on 1 scene in Act I with the full production cast, culminating in the mainstage performance at the Clinton Town Hall the third weekend of November. No audition necessary for this level.

WEDNESDAYS:
Frozen Kids – 9/16 – 11/18/24.
Perfect for grades K – 4. Our Fairytale Theater group will perform a condensed 40 minute production of the favorite children’s musical Frozen with just our littlest thespians to be performed on the Town Hall Stage for Sunday, November 24 at 11:00am. Students will all receive a speaking role they can be successful with based on our initial first class. No auditions for this program. Guaranteed to bring a smile to any young performer’s face. (no classes Indigenous People Day or October 14). Participants subject to a $30 costume fee and supplying own undergarments TBD before the show.

Haunted Spirits of Clinton (Grades 7 and up)
This program is for the young thespian who loves ghosts/ghouls and spirits of the past. Students also discover the joy of community service as we rehearse historical skits for one of Clinton’s most popular events, the annual Haunted Spirits Lantern Stroll. Students will be cast in simple 10 minute skits to perform while dressed in character at the Indian River Cemetery for nightly tours of the historic cemetery and it’s more famous inhabitants from Clinton’s rich past. Tap/Jazz Combo for the Tween & Teen Beginner (Grades 5 and up)
A traditional 6-week class for students looking to improve their dance skills. Many young people discover theater over time and once bit by the bug realize they are missing essential dance skills to get top roles in high school theater or professionally. This class is designed to teach the older actor the critical basics to tap dancing in an age-friendly environment. This high energy, full of fun moves class will have you tapping with confidence at auditions in no time!

Dance Boot Camps: Heels & Audition Mastery (Grades 5 and up)
The Dance Boot Camp is an intensive 6-week program designed to elevate your dance skills and prepare you for the demands of the professional dance world. This course is split into two focused segments: mastering the art of dancing in heels and honing your auditioning techniques through cold call auditions.
Weeks 1-3: Dancing in Heels
Step into your confidence and style with three weeks dedicated to dancing in heels. You’ll learn how to move gracefully, maintain balance, and express power through your movements, all while wearing heels. Each session will challenge your technique, endurance, and versatility, ensuring that by the end of this segment, you’ll feel comfortable and powerful dancing in any style or choreography while in heels.
Weeks 4-6: Cold Call Dance Auditioning
The second half of the boot camp prepares you for the high-pressure environment of cold call dance auditions. Over three weeks, you’ll experience mock auditions, learning how to quickly pick up choreography, deliver confident performances, and stand out in a competitive field. You’ll receive personalized feedback to refine your technique, stage presence, and audition strategy, ensuring you’re ready to make a lasting impression at any audition.
The class is recommended for any beginning/intermediate or advanced dancer

Advanced Tap (Pre-Screening required)
All students who wish to participate in this class must be evaluated by our head dance teacher/choreographer, Maria Teresa Lonetti. This class is for advanced level performers who have prior experience with dance and/or theater.

Little Play Makers
A fun drama class designed specifically for children who are in grades 1/2. Children learn to use their imaginations in a fun and cooperative environment to encourage kindness and positive social skills while discovering a love for the performing arts.

Junior Madcappers

A traditional 8-week class for older students looking for a class to explore comedy and improvisation. Students work separately and together to develop comic skits and routines appropriate for each age level.

This universal tale of fame, fortune, and all that jazz, with one show stopping song after another is Broadway’s longest running American musical. Two death-row murderesses develop a fierce rivalry while competing for publicity, celebrity, and a sleazy lawyer’s attention.
Please read carefully before signing up. Security deposits are non-refundable. No balance refunds following casting: Advanced Level Musical Theater Program rehearses every Saturday from 10 – 2:30pm from 9/21 until 11/26. (*Please. note ~ there are NO Rehearsals 11/23 OR 11/30 – Thanksgiving Break) Tech Week is a mandatory rehearsal week from weekend of 12/1 (TBD) thru 12/5. Show dates 12/6, 7 and 8 and 12/13 & 14. 1 -2 pick up rehearsals the week of 12//9 (TBD). Auditions required. This is an advanced level program and as such a $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place before auditions. **This program is an advanced level program designed for students 9th grade to adult. 9th graders must participate in either the season mainstage running congruently (Frozen) or 2 classes running congruently to qualify. All 8th graders MUST also participate in the fall mainstage musical to participate in this program. Currently active 7th graders with at least 2 years experience at the Academy may request an interview for consideration.
